The artnet Price Database shows that Ensor’s previous record was set at $6.97 million, for the work Les poissardes mélancoliques, which sold at Sotheby’s New York in November, 2015.

Exposed is a short game inspired by James Ensor’s artwork named “Squelette arrêtant masques” (1891). It’s about the secrets we keep intentionally and unintentionally from the people surrounding us. It’s also about openness and prejudice. The player is confronted with a series of people gathered in a large wardrobe. Each coat hanger reveals a different character having his own little secret. While interacting with them, you may uncover their true selves – surprises are guaranteed!
